The opening ceremony of News Media Basic Course No. (1/2022) took place on the morning of February 28, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in the assembly hall of the Anti-Corruption Commission's Office. The ceremony was conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations issued for the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic.
The event was attended by the Commission's Chairman, the Secretary, and Commissioners, as well as Director General U Ye Naing and Trainers from the Myanma Radio and Television Department of the Ministry of Information. During the opening ceremony, the ACC Chairman delivered a speech focusing on the Commission's activities and highlighting the importance of timely information dissemination to the public. He emphasized that the News Media Basic Course was initiated to equip staff with effective information and news media skills for news publishing and awareness article writing.
Moreover, he stressed the significance of adhering to media ethics while presenting information. He highlighted that during the COVID-19 pandemic, social media has played a pivotal role in broadcasting information and announcements to the public through various platforms. He underscored the need for maintaining high ethical standards in creating systematic and ethical content. As trainees, he encouraged them to apply the subject knowledge practically in their workplace, fostering interest and contributing to the betterment of the state and its people.
The course was attended by (3) officers and (18) staff, totaling (21) trainees from the Commission Office. The course is scheduled to run for (3) weeks, following COVID-19 rules and regulations, from February 28th to March 22nd, 2022. Throughout the course duration, participants will engage in discussions and lessons covering various topics such as an introduction to journalism, online news writing, basic photography, news filming and production, as well as news editing.
