Conducting a workshop on Complaint Handling Mechanisms

        The opening ceremony of the Workshop on Complaint Handling Mechanisms, in collaboration with the Ombudsman Office, New Zealand Embassy, was held this morning (09:00) at the M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw. The event was attended by representatives from the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Union Civil Service Board, and the New Zealand Embassy.

        At the workshop, U Aung Kyi, Chairman of the Commission, delivered an opening speech and explained the steps for managing and handling complaints that come to the Commission in accordance with the anti-corruption law. He emphasized the need to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the complaint handling mechanism, making it easier for the complainants. Additionally, he discussed the ways to identify areas for improving response strategies.
        Continuing the event, U Saw Valentine, member of the Union Civil Service Board, along with H.E Mr. Steve Marshall, Ambassador of New Zealand, and H.E Mr. Peter Boshier, Chief Ombudsman, delivered their opening remarks.
        After that, those who attended the opening ceremony collectively recorded and took pictures.
        The workshop continued with the participation of the Chairman and Secretary of the Committee on Complaints and Appeals or Petitions of the Pyithu Hluttaw, High-ranking officials from Union Ministries, the Union Attorney General’s Office, the Union Civil Service Board, and the Anti-Corruption Commission. The workshop concluded at 16:30 in the evening after discussing various reform requirements aimed at aligning the complaint handling mechanism with international standards.
