Myanma Agricultural Development Bank Manager to be sued for corruption

            IT was reported that a coplaint was filed against Myaungmya Township Agricultural Development Bank manager, Daw Marlar Tin for corruption. In the complaint filed against her to Anti-Corruption Commission, she is accused of taking advantage of farmers’s difficulties and taking bribes. 

            This happen during provision of agricultural loans to farmers in Myaung Mya Township, Ayeyawady Region. As ACC formed an investigation team to look into the case, it was found that she deposited 2016 agricultural loan of K18,970,560, which belongs to 14 farmers from Lay Eain Tan village-tract, to Myanma Economic Bank. On 21 July new loans were given to those farmers for 2017 rain crops. 11 farmers, who had yet to return loan, each returned K15,411,000 with 5% interest of K77,055. It was received by Daw Marlar Tin, and she abused her authority by taking 5% interest of K70,550. ACC said that the first complaint has been filed against her at Myaung Mya Police station to sue her for corruption in accordance Anti-Corruption Law section 56.
