Anti-Corruption Commission held Workshop on “Enhancing Integrity and Combatting Corruption”

The Anti-Corruption Commission office held an awareness workshop on “Enhancing Integrity and Combatting Corruption” Via English Language Instruction at 01:30 pm, today, in the Assembly Hall. The Chairman of the Commission attended the ceremony along with the Secretary and Members, the Permanent Secretary, the Director Generals, Deputy Director Generals and staff from the Commission Office and branch offices.
At the event, Chairman U Sis Aye stated in his opening speech in which the aim of the workshop on “Enhancing Integrity and Combatting Corruption” is to enhance capacity building for all staff, sharpen their presentation skills, uplift proficiency in their English language, and share bits of knowledge on integrity and anti-corruption. The Anti-Corruption Commission (Myanmar) is a state party in the UNCAC convention and a member of international organizations. It is necessary to hold workshops via English version aiming not only to enhance English language skills but also to impart subject-specific knowledge related to corruption. And then to develop good governance and clean government system, with the ultimate goal of creating a society with zero tolerance for corruption. It is important that the staff within the commission office actively engage in the prevention and mitigation of corruption. They must demonstrate proficiency in conducting investigations and raising awareness. Achieving these objectives necessitates their unwavering commitment to ongoing self-improvement and qualification efforts. He believes it will be beneficial for the commission staff to solidify their commitments to promoting integrity and anti-corruption measures. He encouraged staff to work collectively towards a corruption-free future, fostering a culture of zero tolerance for corruption like our Commission’s motto “Remove Corruption, Promote Prosperity”.
In Workshop, Daw Myat Su Thin, Director, from International Affairs and Prevention Department, served as Moderator, Daw Yadanar Win, Assistant Director, from Head Office, discussed as Speaker with the title “Critical Analysis on Singapore’s Zero Tolerance Policy”, U Thet Tun Aung, Staff Officer, from Administrative Department, discussed as Speaker with the title “Enhancing Preventive Measures for achieving Zero Tolerance Policy on Corruption” and Daw Htet Htet Aung, Staff Officer, from Investigation Department, discussed on the topic “Integrity Education for Youth”. Subsequently, participants had the opportunity to ask and answer questions and then the Chairman of the Commission gave closing speech and successfully concluded the workshop at 16:20 PM.
