Anti-Corruption Commission and Government Technological College (Mandalay) Jointly Hold 'Youth and Code of Conduct' Discussion

14 February, 2024

The 'Youth and Code of Conduct' discussion was held in cooperation between the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Government Technological College (Mandalay) under the Ministry of Science and Technology at 09:30 this morning. The event was attended by Commissioner Dr. Tun Tun Oo and other officials from the commission office, as well as Director General Dr. Htay Twin from the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training. Also present were Headmaster Dr. Tun Kyaw Myint, along with professors, associate professors, lecturers, teachers, and students from the Government Technological College (Mandalay)."

In his opening speech, Commissioner Dr. Tun Tun Oo stated that youth discussions are being conducted at universities and colleges to raise awareness among students, correct fundamental misconceptions regarding the distinction between public and private interests, cultivate good citizens with integrity, and foster a society with zero tolerance for corruption. As the saying goes, 'today's youths are the adults of the future.' Youths are the future leaders of the state, and it is necessary to live with integrity from a young age to become a good leader with a proper code of conduct. In defining a leader, it means 'a person who can lead with integrity to achieve proper results,' rather than just being skilled in leadership. There is a connection between a code of conduct and leadership. When acting as a leader or follower in cooperative activities in students' lives, it's important to adhere to the code of conduct. Youths have the ability to solve problems with creativity. Commissioner Dr. Tun Tun Oo believes that they can fight against corruption by utilizing innovative thinking and modern technologies. In fighting corruption, every citizen needs to adhere to codes of conduct to establish an Integrity Pact based on integrity.

Afterward, students from Government Technological College (Mandalay) openly asked questions of the students who participated as panelists in the 'Youth and Code of Conduct' Youth Talk. Headmaster Dr. Tun Kyaw Myint from Government Technological College (Mandalay) expressed thanks to Commissioner Dr. Tun Tun Oo. The event concluded with a group photo, taken after Commissioner Dr. Tun Tun Oo presented a souvenir gift to Director General Dr. Htay Twin from the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and Headmaster Dr. Tun Kyaw Myint from Government Technological College (Mandalay).
