The Anti-Corruption Commission and the Kachin State Government jointly held the opening ceremony of the Public Feedback Programme training through an online platform this afternoon at the meeting hall of the Commission Office. The ceremony was attended by Thiri Pyanchi U Hkyet Hting Nan, Chief Minister of the Kachin State Government, Dr. Htay Aung, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, and other responsible individuals from both the Kachin State Government and the Commission, as well as the trainees.

    Firstly, Thiri Pyanchi U Hkyet Hting Nan, Chief Minister of the Kachin State Government, delivered his opening remark and highlighted the efforts of the Kachin State Corruption Prevention Unit in implementing anti-corruption measures as specified by the functions outlined by the Anti-Corruption Commission, which include (6) Agendas and (3) functions. He stated that the training was conducted in cooperation with the ACC, with the intention of effectively using the prevention mechanism to combat petty corruption. This mechanism involves reaching out to the public individuals who access services at grassroots-level offices through phone by sending SMSs and utilizing the Public Feedback Programme, which is one of the key responsibilities of the Corruption Prevention Units (CPUs).

Following that, Dr. Htay Aung, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the use of the Public Feedback Programme to reduce petty corruption and improve the quality of public services. He highlighted that this initiative demonstrates the State Government’s concern for the livelihood of the public and aims to strengthen trust between the Government and its citizens. Dr. Htay Aung also pointed out the necessity of further developments for the proper functioning of the SMS short code “1111” while carrying out the Public Feedback Programme for citizens, involving the Union Ministries/organizations, including the Commission. He stressed that anti-corruption measures should not be carried out alone, but should be implemented with the cooperation of people from different fields and sectors. The State’s objective of implementing Clean Government and Good Governance will be successful through cooperation in anti-corruption. Only then, a society with less corruption will be built, and people’s trust will be earned. He also encouraged the trainees to diligently study the technical lessons that will be covered during the training.
