        A coordination meeting was held at 10:00 am in the Assembly Hall of the Anti-Corruption Commission Office, with a hybrid system, to discuss the functions of CPUs of the Union Ministries/Organizations and Regions/States.

        The Meeting was chaired by HE. Dr. Htay Aung, the Chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission, the Commissioners, the Senior Officials of the Ministries/Organizations and the Regions/States and the Anti-Corruption Commission Office.

       During the meeting, Commission Chairman Dr. Htay Aung said “the Commission is mainly focusing on awareness raising, rather than keeping on prevention and investigation in the anti-corruption process. Thus, education and preventive measures are in the sense of priority.

        The Corruption Prevention Units in the Regions/States should include the education department so as to deal with teachers and students at various levels. The three tasks of the CPU are to investigate and identify corruption issues related to bribery, to solve the problems in accordance with the law, and to prevent and control the corruption, competently. If all the people are educated and are quite enough to speed up to effectively comply with the principals of the Code of Conduct, definitely, we will be able to reduce bribery and corruption. Since the Anti-Corruption activity cannot be done alone, it is a type of work that needs cooperation, coordination and communication among the teams or the groups at various status”. He continued “conducting anti-corruption activities as a national cause, by working together and cooperating, we will be able to embrace a clean government and good governance which is driven by the government”.

        After that, the Secretary of the Commission explained about the Anti-Corruption process, and the CPU team leaders of the Union Ministries/Organizations and Regions/States discussed and presented their progressive reports based on their experiences, advantages, disadvantages and reviews encountering in the implementation of the Corruption Prevention Unit.

        The Directors General of the Anti-Corruption Commission clarified the discussions, and the Commission member U Maung Maung Tint also discussed the necessary additions.
