Chin State Government and Anti-Corruption Commission jointly held Awareness Programme on Corruption Prevention

Anti-Corruption Commission and Chin State Government jointly held Awareness Programme on Corruption Prevention at the meeting hall of Anti-Corruption Commission Office on April 3, 2023 with virtual format.
At the Occasion, Dr. Wong Hsun Htan, Chief Minister of Chin State, said that awareness related to corruption prevention will increase by holding awareness lectures on that. In the reduction of corruption, the public funds will be able to be properly spent in areas that will benefit the state and the people. As Civil Servants, we have to be upright or integrity in carrying out public service activities transparently. Corruption is an obstacle in the implementation of development in various fields, so it is necessary to be good civil servants who are free from corruption. Clean Government and Good Governance system can only be implemented and built by civil servants who are free from corruption.
After that, Chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission Dr. Htay Aung addressed that corruption is not only giving/taking bribes, but also as the development of technology, it takes many forms. Especially, it is taking in the form of systemic corruption. It is not just an ordinary matter; we must consider the loss of state-owned money and property. Since the enactment of the Anti-Corruption Law, the Commission has amended the Anti-Corruption Law for 4 times in 2018, and the discussions on the current law are made.
By defining the meaning of corruption more broadly, the commission have to identify and combat other forms of corruption that affect the interests, values and development of the state, which are more serious than giving/taking bribes.
As our Commission is carrying out Anti-Corruption activities with awareness raising, preventing and investigating timely, we must take care to develop a society that does not accept corruption by carrying out the awareness sector comprehensively.
The Commission has established Code of Conduct to follow, and we have to carry out our process in accordance with basic principles such as integrity, transparency, accountability, fairness, and inclusiveness.
Public awareness is a fundamental method for fighting against corruption. So, it being able to hold educational lectures is a good movement for national development. As Commission, the main objective is to be of benefit as a Clean Government and Good Governance.
The Chief Justice of the Chin State Court of Justice, State Ministers, Departments at the State level; District/Township Administrative Organization’s members attended. Anti-Corruption Commission will conduct a technical course on corruption prevention to the members of Chin State Corruption Prevention Unit (CPU) through online, on April 4.
