Holding the ceremony of the awareness session on corruption prevention and technical training on the corruption prevention at the City Hall of the Bago City

        To implement process 1 of the thematic area 6 of the anti-corruption strategy, “to effectively implement anti-corruption workshops and prevention actives in Union Ministries/ Organizations and Region and State Governments”, the ceremony of the awareness session on corruption prevention and technical training on the corruption prevention was held at the City Hall of the Bago City, on 24th November 2022, with the cooperation of Anti-Corruption Commission and Bago Region Government.


        In the session, the Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win addressed the opening remark, by conducting the corruption prevention awareness, the responsible person for the region and state government organization gain knowledge on the corruption, state loss due to corruption, the disadvantages of corruption and then by understanding the provisions of the anti-corruption law and the penalties, they will be able to avoid corruption.

        Moreover, Daw Kyu Kyu Win, Commissioner of the Anti- Corruption Commission, expressed that, the Commission is conducting the anti-corruption activities with three main functions; investigation, prevention and awareness raising under the annual work plan in line with 2022-2025 anti-corruption strategy. The Commission is conducting anti-corruption activities as a national cause to emerge Good Governance and Clean Government. To develop greater responsibility, accountability and transparency; To ensure that state funds are not misused, verification is being carried out. The purpose of the anti-corruption law is to protect the interests of the public and to take action against the one who commits corruption, and it is being implemented to make a society free from corruption. In doing so, all relevant responsible persons from the government ministry, organizations and non-governmental organizations, civil organizations including the news media have to cooperate and work together. Discussion and presentation from the legal point of view regarding the formation of the Corruption Prevention Unit (CPU): awareness raising; questions & answers session to the participants; and enthusiastic responses from the Commissioner and the commission office staff are being conducted.

        Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Chief Justice, Cabinet ministers, Attorney General, and a total of (120) departmental officials in Bago Region attended to the ceremony of the awareness session on corruption prevention, and technical training on the corruption prevention was being conducted on the second day.
