Holding an awareness session on corruption prevention

This morning, a ceremony on corruption prevention and awareness was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development. Deputy Minister U Myint Soe of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Commissioner U Win Ti from the Anti-Corruption Commission, Permanent Secretary U Khant Zaw, Directors General, as well as officials from the Commission Office and staff, attended the event.
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister U Myint Soe emphasized that civil servants can avoid actions that lead to corruption by understanding the negative effects of corruption and familiarizing themselves with the provisions and penalties outlined in anti-corruption laws. He also informed the audience about the establishment of a ministerial-level Corruption Prevention Unit within the ministry, led by the permanent secretary and comprising 14 members. Furthermore, he highlighted that corruption hinders the country's development, erodes individuals' morals and conduct, diminishes fair competition, and impacts public services, creating a financial gap among the public and diminishing public trust in the state government and the overall economy and culture.
Deputy Minister U Myint Soe also expressed his appreciation and acknowledged the commendable work of the Anti-Corruption Commission for the efforts in organizing events at various government departments aimed at raising awareness and promoting discussions on corruption prevention.
