The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Border Affairs' Joint Meeting Hall at 9:00 a.m today, with notable attendees, including Lieutenant General Tun Tun Naung, Minister of Border Affairs, Dr. Htay Aung, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, General Khun Thant Zaw Htoo, Deputy Minister of Border Affairs, General Phyo Thant, Permanent Secretary, Director-General, officers, staff, and responsible persons.

    Firstly, Lt. Gen. Tun Tun Naung, the Union Minister of Border Affairs, delivered the opening speech in which he stated that this ceremony was organized with the intention of helping the responsible persons and civil servants in our ministry to prevent corruption. The aim is to enhance their understanding of the various aspects related to corruption, including the losses experienced by the state due to corrupt practices, as well as the provisions and sentences outlined by the Anti-Corruption Commission. He mentioned that the Corruption Prevention Unit (CPU) at the Ministry of Border Affairs, which is under the leadership of the Deputy Minister, is currently executing three tasks and six work plans, which are similar to those in other ministries. He encouraged civil servants to enhance the dignity and efficiency of the Ministry by actively engaging in their respective sectors, refraining from involvement in corruption, and fulfilling their duties with dedication to the country and its people, exemplifying honesty, hard work, and loyalty as public servants. He expressed his desire to motivate the members of the Corruption Prevention Unit in the Ministry to consistently enhance their tasks and work plans.

    Following that, Dr. Htay Aung, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, took the stage to deliver the speech during the anti-corruption day ceremony held on 9 December 2022. In his speech, Chairman of the State Administrative Council, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, urged for an increase in awareness and prevention activities as fundamental elements in fostering a culture of zero tolerance for corruption, emphasizing that investigation alone is not enough to effectively reduce corruption.

He explained that corruption is not limited to bribery and can harm national interest and an organization's reputation. In the battle against corruption, ethical compliance plays a vital role. He also encouraged them to enhance the dignity of the state by displaying good morals and maintaining honesty while working diligently to provide quality services to the public. 

    Afterward, the Anti-Corruption Commission explained their anti-corruption activities through a video clip and took a group photo together. Subsequently, Director General U Zaw Min Tun from the Anti-Corruption Commission provided an explanation of the Anti-Corruption Law.

    Following that, Director Daw Zar Zar Moe from the Public Relations and Awareness Division discussed the nature of corruption, reasons for its occurrence, and its negative effects, Director Daw Aye Myat Mon from the Prevention Division explained the anti-corruption prevention measures, while Director U Aung Khant elaborated on the investigation sector, respectively.
