        The delegation, led by U Aung Kyi, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission Myanmar, attended the High-Level Conference on Sustainable Development, Crime Prevention, and State Societies, as well as the Bilateral Meeting between Myanmar and Thailand's anti-corruption organization, held on March 5-6, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. They arrived in Thailand by air from Yangon International Airport on the morning of March 4th.

        The Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission of Myanmar and the delegation attended the High-Level Conference on Sustainable Development, Crime Prevention, and State Societies, which was jointly organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Department of Justice of Thailand. The conference took place at the United Nations Headquarters in Bangkok on March 5, 2018.

Law enforcement organizations, anti-corruption organizations, responsible individuals, experts, and observers from the Asia-Pacific region attended the conference. Opening remarks were delivered by Princess Bajrakityabha Mahidol, the daughter of the King of Thailand, and Mr. Yury Fedotov, the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

Then, during part (1) of the Conference Program, the Chairman of the Commission led a discussion on the challenges to the rule of law in Southeast Asia. The focus of the discussion was on issues such as drug trafficking, money laundering, human trafficking, and illegal trade in natural resources, all of which are interconnected with corruption. These criminal activities pose significant obstacles to the rule of law, sustainable development, and the safety of local communities in Southeast Asia. As anti-corruption organizations in the region, it is imperative that we collaborate with other relevant responsible organizations to effectively combat these crimes.
