The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, attended the meeting and workshop in Singapore.

30 October 2018

The Myanmar delegation, led by U Aung Kyi, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, visited Singapore to attend the 14th Southeast Asia Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC) Principals Meeting and the regional workshop on Applying Innovative Tools in the Fight Against Corruption, held in Singapore from October 29 to 31, 2018. They departed by air from Yangon International Airport on October 28, 2018.

The Commission Chairman and his team attended the 14th SEA-PAC Principals Meeting, chaired by the Singapore Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), from October 30 to 31, 2018.

In the meeting, they discussed the anti-corruption prevention and activities being carried out by Southeast Asia Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC).

At the meeting, the Anti-Corruption Commission discussed the topic of “Working with stakeholders to create a zero-tolerance culture for corruption” during the discussions.

The meeting discussed the SEA-PAC Action Plan (2017-2019). There was a friendly and open discussion on the proposal whether or not to change the name of the current SEA-PAC to the ASEAN Parties Against Corruption (ASEAN-PAC). This change would enable SEA-PAC member countries to carry out more high-performance programs.

Before the SEA-PAC meeting, member countries attended the regional workshop on Applying Innovative Tools in the Fight Against Corruption, which was jointly organized by Singapore Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on October 29, 2018.

At the workshop, in order to effectively prevent and combat corruption using modern technology, they discussed the benefits of utilizing online communication systems and mobile techniques for reporting corruption complaints. They also explored the use of digital information in anti-corruption efforts, transparent data reception, and the application of techniques in financial investigations.

Commission Chairman and his delegation arrived back to Myanmar on November 1 2018.
