Hosting the 13th Secretariat Meeting of the Southeast Asia Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC)

The 13th Secretariat meeting of the Southeast Asia Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC), hosted by the Anti-Corruption Commission Myanmar, took place on May 11, 2017. The event started at 9:00 AM in the morning at The Hotel Royal ACE, with U Mya Win, Chairman of the Myanmar Anti-Corruption Commission, in attendance to deliver a speech.
The meeting was attended by U Mya Win, Chairman of the Myanmar Anti-Corruption Commission, as well as representatives and officials from member countries of SEA-PAC.
According to the plan, U Mya Win, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission Myanmar, expressed his immense pride and happiness during his opening speech at the 13th Secretariat meeting of the Southeast Asian Parties Against Corruption. He emphasized Myanmar’s privilege to host this prestigious event and highlighted that the country became a member of SEA-PAC on November 14, 2013. U Mya Win also mentioned his consistent attendance at the annual SEA-PAC meetings and emphasized his commitment to collaborating with member countries in combating corruption within the region. Furthermore, he proudly mentioned that Myanmar successfully hosted the 12th annual (Principals) SEA-PAC meeting from December 14 to 16, 2016, serving as the host chair. In addition, he shared the exciting news that the SEA-PAC group has been officially recognized as an entity of the ASEAN group, even in our commission. The recognition is a direct outcome of the collaborative efforts of all member countries within SEA-PAC. U Mya Win informed that the SEA-PAC Action Plan (2017-2019), discussed and approved during the 12th SEA-PAC meeting, has gained approval from member countries. He expressed his confidence in the meeting’s success and anticipated fruitful outcomes.
Subsequently, following the meeting agenda, the Anti-Corruption Commission Myanmar, as the host, led and proceeded to conduct the meeting in accordance with the established schedule.
The Secretariat meeting of SEA-PAC member countries is conducted annually, with each country taking turns to host. This year, Myanmar is the host country, and the Anti-Corruption Commission Office, Myanmar, is serving as the chairperson. The meeting was held from May 11th to 12th.
